What to Expect From a Full Interior Detail

If you have never booked a detail before, "full interior" is a vague promise. Here is what actually happens, in order, so you know what you are paying for.

Before we arrive

Two things help, and neither takes long. Clear out anything personal you would rather move yourself: documents, sunglasses, the change in the console, the gym bag. And tell us where to park, ideally somewhere we are not blocking a neighbour.

That is all. You do not need to supply water, power, or a hose. The van carries its own tank and generator, so a driveway, a street spot, or a parkade all work.

You also do not need to be home. Most people hand over the keys and get on with their day.

The walk-around

We start by looking at the car with you and asking one question: what bothers you most about it? Whatever you answer becomes the job's priority. We also photograph any existing damage, which protects both of us, and take the before shots.

The work itself

Everything comes out. Mats, rubbish, and anything loose. Mats are cleaned separately so they can dry while the rest of the car is being done.

A full vacuum, properly. Seats, carpets, seat rails, under the pedals, the trunk. We slide seats forward and back to reach the places a quick vacuum never gets. This is where most of the difference comes from, and it is the part people underestimate.

Crevices by hand. Seat seams, the gap between the console and the seats, seatbelt buckles, vents. Brushes and compressed air, not just a nozzle. This is the slow part and it is most of the visible difference.

Shampooing is separate, and deliberately so. Hot-water extraction of the seats or carpets is an add-on rather than part of the package, because plenty of interiors do not need it and we would rather not charge everyone for something half of you will not use. If the carpets are stained rather than dirty, add it. Leather cleaning and conditioning comes with a Restore.

Every plastic surface wiped down. Dash, console, door cards, vents, cupholders, handles, steering wheel. Never greasy afterwards. A shiny dash is a sign someone skipped the cleaning and went straight to the dressing.

Glass twice. Once to clean, once to polish out the film. Interior glass is where streaks show worst, and it is the first thing you notice driving into low sun.

How long it takes

A Refresh is about two hours and covers the interior or the exterior, not both. A Reset covers the full interior and exterior in three to four hours. A Restore runs four to five and adds clay bar decontamination and full interior steam cleaning.

At handoff

We walk you round it, open the door, and let the interior speak first. If you added a shampoo or a steam clean, the fabric needs a few hours to dry fully, so leave the windows cracked if you can.

Payment happens at the end, once you have seen the car, by card, e-transfer, or cash. Nothing is charged when you book.
