It is the question we get asked more than any other, usually phrased as "is it actually worth the money?" The honest answer is that it depends on how long you are keeping the car, and anyone who says yes without asking that question is selling rather than advising.
A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that chemically bonds to your paint and cures into a hard, slick, transparent layer. Once it has set, water beads and rolls off instead of sitting on the paint, dirt struggles to grip, and the surface resists the things that quietly ruin a finish: sun, tree sap, bird droppings, and the road salt that shows up every winter here.
The practical difference shows up on wash day. A coated car cleans up with far less effort, and it keeps a depth of gloss that wax simply cannot hold for more than a couple of months.
This is where most of the disappointment comes from, so we would rather be blunt.
A coating is not scratch protection. It will not save you from a shopping cart, a key, or a careless automatic car wash. It is also not permanent: the protection period depends on the coating tier and how the car is maintained. Our Core promises 12 months of protection; Pro is a five-year coating.
A coating locks in whatever is underneath it. Apply one over swirled paint and the swirls remain visible. That is why our Showroom Core includes decontamination and a gloss enhancement, while Pro adds a full stage of paint correction before coating.
Say yes if you are keeping the car for three or more years, if it lives outside rather than in a garage, if you actually care how it looks, or if you would rather wash it less often. It is also a genuinely good decision on a new car, because the paint is already in the condition you want to preserve.
Say no if you are selling within a year, if the car is a work truck that will be scratched regardless, or if the paint is in rough enough shape that correcting it properly would cost more than the car warrants. In those cases the sealant included in a Restore gives you several months of protection for a fraction of the price, and that is the better buy.
Our Showroom comes in two tiers with the price fixed by vehicle size, so you see the number before you book. Showroom Core · 12-month protection is $445 for a sedan. Showroom Pro · 5-year coating is $895 for a sedan and adds a full stage of paint correction. If the paint needs more correction than one stage, send four daylight photos and we quote the extra hours at $95 an hour before you book.
If you are unsure, send us a couple of photos. We will tell you honestly whether your car is a coating candidate or whether you would be better off spending less.
Flat pricing by vehicle size, a card held rather than charged, and nothing owed until you have seen the car.
